Vessal Specification

This brand new ship entered operations in October 2003 and is the first larger river cruise ship to ply between Saigon in Vietnam and Angkor Wat in Cambodia linking two key destinations in South-East Asia. At present 2 programs are offered:

1) Upstream Ho Chi Minh – Siem Reap (8 days/7 nights)
2) Downstream Siem Reap – Ho Chi Minh (8 days/7 nights)

Note: Effective May 01’ 2004, Downstream program (Siem Reap – Ho Chi Minh) will be changed to 8 days/7 nights.

The RV Mekong Pandaw is part of the splendid Pandaw fleet of ships started by the historic Irrawaddy Flotilla Company in Burma. These ships are replicas of colonial period river steamers and finished in teak and brass in a traditional 1920s marine style. They are amongst the most comfortable and characterful ships in the world and Pandaw-style cruising has evolved into a unique form of river exploration and quite unlike other forms of cruising.

On all the Pandaw ships there is a spacious dining room on the Middle Deck that during the day is open to the river breeze and at night can be closed with air-conditioning. On the Upper Deck there is a roomy cocktail bar and a large sun deck area, half covered by an awning, which affords the best views of the river life around.

Passenger Accommodation: Upper Deck 18 twin staterooms + 2 singles
Middle Deck 6 twin staterooms
Main Deck 8 twin or double staterooms

Total passenger capacity: 66 pax

The RV Mekong Pandaw is crewed by a mixture of Myanmar, Cambodian and Vietnamese under the direction of a professional European hotel manager and/or European Executive Chef. The cuisine is a choice of Asian or European. There are English language guides accompanying all shore excursions. Other language guides can be arranged and accommodated on request.
