Saigon - Mekong Delta - Nha Trang - Hoi An - Hue - Hanoi - Halong Bay

Witness life on the banks of the mighty Mekong River, lap up the sun at one of Vietnam's most secluded island and lose yourself in the narrow winding streets of Hoi An. Then explore the cultural heritage of Hue, the colonial style of Hanoi and vast open expanse of Ha Long Bay.

Day 1 : Arrive Hanoi
At Hanoi Airport our guide will accompany you to you hotel where your guide will be able to offer advice and assistance as required.
Day 2 : Hanoi (Breakfast included)
City tour including Ho Chi Mi nh' s Mausoleum and a walking tour of Hanoi' s vibrant Old Quarter. In the afternoon we visit the Temple of Literature and the impressive Museum of Ethnology.
Day 3 : Mai Chau Trek (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
Depart Hanoi for Mai Chau and begin trekking. The verdant and rugged mountain scenery combined with the colorful local population makes this on unforgettable experience. We stay overnight as the guests of an H' mong family in a traditional long house.
Day 4 : Mai Chau Trek (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
Today we get well and truly off the beaten track as we trek through tropical rain forest, using the local tracks and passing through cornfields as we descend in to Mai Chau Valley. The trek usually takes around 7 hours and is quite steep in places. Overnight with Thai family in stilt house
Day 5 : Mai Chau - Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch included)
We trek for a couple pf hours passing through several more Thai hamlets on the valley before we return to Hanoi.
Day 6 : Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
We leave the capital for Ha Long Bay. Once here we explore the bay' s secluded days and beaches. We overnight on board our boat.
Day 7 : Ha Long Bay - Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch included)
We spend the morning in the bay before returning to Hanoi. In the evening we board the famous Reunification Express for our southbound train to Hue.
Day 8 : Hue (Breakfast included)
We arrive Vietnam's former capital in the morning. We then have a guided tour of the Citadel, containing the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City.
Day 9 : Hue - Hoi An (Breakfast included)
This morning we have a dragon boat cruise down The Perfume visiting some Royal Tombs en route. Later we drive up the spectacular Hari Van Pass and down to Hoi An.
Day 10 : Hoi An (Breakfast included)
Morning orientation tour of Hoi An' s historic old quarter. The remainder of the day is free.
Day 11 : Hoi An - Ho Chi Mi nh City (Breakfast included)
We transfer to Dana airport for the fight to Ho Chi Mi nh City (Saigon) . In the afternoon we have a tour of the city ' s most famous sights.
Day 12 : Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi - Stay Ninth (Breakfast/Lunch included)
In the morning we have an excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels followed by the Cao Dai temple at Tay Ninh.
Day 13 : Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
This morning we travel by road to the heart of the Mekong River to give us a proper perspective of Delta. We take a boat around the tributaries of the might Mekong River to give us a proper perspective of Delta life. We stay in a local home stay
Day 14 : Mekong Delta - Ho chi Minh City River (Breakfast/Dinner included)
We return to Saigon in the afternoon where the remainder of the day is free. In the evening we have a farewell dinner.
Day 15 : Depart Ho Chi Mi nh City (Breakfast)
The tour finishes after breakfast. There will be a transfer waiting to take you to the airport for your departure flight

Grade : Easy - Moderate.
Accommodation : Standard 3 star hotels and traditional home stays
Transport : Air-conditioned car or bus, Soft Sleeper train, Boat, Plane and Bicycle.
Spending Money : You would need to allow for additional sightseeing, shopping,shopping and drinks. As a rough guide allow US$ 25 per day.
Visas : Vietnam: Visas are required to enter Vietnam for all nationalities. Cambodia: Visas are obtained on arrival. The cost is US$ 25 without 2 passport - sized photos or US$ 20 with 2 passport sized photos.
Airport Departure Tax : Vietnam:
International departure tax is US$ 14 and can also be paid in local currency.
Money Exchange : Ensure you have US dollars cash or US dollar traveler’s checks before arriving. Most hotels are able to exchange US cash into local currency but travelers checks need to be exchanged at a bank. At time of writing the exchange rate was 1 USD = 15,730 Vietnamese Dong (VND)
Fitness Requirements : You would need to be in reasonable physical condition to participate in the treks. While they are not challenging, the fitter you are the more enjoyment you would find in them.
Laundry : Laundry facilities are available at the hotels for a nominal fee.
When: These tours operate year round however please note that during the months of October and November Vietnam can experience heavy rains and flooding. Therefore itineraries are subject to change, as conditions require.

What to Take :

You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage; therefore it is in your own interest to pack as lightly as possible. We suggest a main backpack with a reasonable daypack for the treks and day tours. Suitcases are not advisable for the Hilltribe & Halong Adventure & the Vietnam Explorer. We also recommend strong walking shoes/boots and sandals or sports shoes for walking on beaches and daily use.

Joining instructions:

As you pass through immigration and customs at Hanoi airport you will be met by our guide and drive and transferred to your hotel.
