DAY 1 HO
CHI MINH CITY TO CAN THO( L)
This
morning travel south into the heart of the Mekong Delta. En route, pass
farmers tending their fields and drying their produce on the sides of
the road. On arrival at Can Tho check into your beautiful French
colonial style hotel situated on the banks of the Mekong River. After
lunch, take a walk around Can Tho town with your guide, before returning
to relax around the Victoria Can Tho's swimming pool, on the tennis
court or at the terrace bar.

DAY 2 CAN THO (B,L)
This morning board your boat for a visit to the
fascinating floating market at Cai Rang.
See local farmers trading their produce
on the water as they have done for
centuries. Continue on to a fruit
orchard where you can sample some of the
tropical fruits grown in this region and
try some local tea. In the afternoon
relax and enjoy the hotel facilities
(swimming pool, games room and tennis
courts) or take the complimentary
shuttle boat into Can Tho town.

DAY 3 CAN THO TO CHAU DOC (B,L)
This morning drive deeper into the Mekong Delta with a
visit to a local village which specialises in making bamboo baskets. You
will have a unique opportunity to discover a side of Delta life that few
travellers experience. Continue on to the nearby Stork Sanctuary where you
can see thousands of storks nesting in a beautiful natural environment.
Arrive in the riverside town of Chau Doc around lunchtime, enjoying typical
rural scenery en route. After lunch, take a walk around the town and see the
bustling market, then continue to Sam Mountain, with its breathtaking views
over the rice paddies to the Cambodian border.

DAY 4 CHAU DOC TO HO
CHI MINH CITY (B,L)
This morning board a small sampan for an
exploration of the Hau River waterways.
Life in this area is still dominated by
the Mekong as it has been for centuries. Experience first-hand the
bustling waterborne trade and commerce,
houses perched on stilts above the
water, and floating fish farms. Follow
the river into a Cham village and visit
the community mosque for an insight into
the simple lives of these people who
formerly ruled much of southern
Vietnam. Late morning depart the Mekong
for your return drive to Saigon.
